In an era where disruption is more than a buzzword, Maudlyn Akosua Awuku took the stage at LinkedIn's London Headquarters as a beacon of change at the Disruptor 3 launch event.

Hosted by LinkedIn's Tunji Akintokun MBE, the event was a clarion call for transformation, particularly focusing on issues affecting women in various professional spheres. Maudlyn, known for her relentless efforts to challenge established norms, engaged in a thought-provoking dialogue with Mandy Sanghera on what it takes to be a disruptor in today’s world. "The path of a disruptor is never easy," Awuku stated. "It requires resilience, vision, and often, the courage to stand alone. But when you see positive changes, when you witness barriers crumbling, you realize it's all worthwhile."

Disruptors magazine-book series by Violet Simon founded by Sophia Ukor, doesn't merely profile successful women; it amplifies voices that are reshaping industries and challenging the status quo. Among its pages, alongside 60 luminaries such as Emma Dabiri, Dr Charlotte Proudman, Dame Stephanie Shirley, Munira Wilson MP and Maudlyn Akosua Awuku.

The event's panel discussions underscored critical issues. One panel, featuring BAFTA-nominated director Delyth Thomas, focused on misconduct in the workplace, particularly in the film industry. Another tackled the often-overlooked realm of women in sports, revealing systemic barriers from unequal pay to limited media coverage, while showcasing the indomitable spirit of female athletes pushing for change. As Maudlyn concluded, her words carried weight: "To be a disruptor isn't about chaos; it's about creation. We're not tearing down institutions for the sake of it. We're rebuilding them to be more inclusive, more just, more human."

In a world grappling with issues of equality and representation, gatherings like this—and voices like Ms Awuku don't just inspire, they incite action, reminding us that the status quo is not immutable. It's a construct, waiting to be challenged by those brave enough to envision a better alternative.
